November 8, 2011 -- After much anticipation and five long months of voting, the suspense was put to rest as the Georgia Country Awards winners were announced this Saturday at Cowboys in Milledgeville, GA. Griffin's very own Lauren Ashley Redmond was named the Georgia Country Female Artist of the Year, which was a fan-voted award.
"Being named the Georgia Country Female Artist of the Year is such a great honor." said Redmond. "The awards were voted on by the fans which made is even more special to me. I have a great group of fans that are very supportive. I am thankful and appreciative of my hometown community of Griffin who have been so supportive."
In the past year Lauren Ashley has opened for such acts a Luke Bryan and Ronnie Milsap. In addition to these performances, Lauren Ashley released her first self-titled EP which received outstanding reviews, and has been busy touring throughout Georgia, building a loyal and supportive fan base.
