Introducing… Lauren Ashley

Introducing… Lauren Ashley

LAFANPAGEPROPIC
We recently caught up with singer/songwriter Lauren Ashley to chat about her inspirations, her budding country music career, her latest single, and more. Get to know the singer below…
CMIL: What inspired you to pursue a career in country music?
LA: I’ve always had a love for music, singing, performing, etc. But, I think it really hit me years ago at my first concert EVER- Kenny Chesney! I looked around the arena and then at the stage and imagined how amazing it would be to be on stage looking out to thousands upon thousands of fans screaming and singing your songs. At that moment, I knew that I wanted to be a country music singer, songwriter, and entertainer. So.. here I am!
CMIL: What’s the story behind your single, “Stirred Not Shaken?”
LA: “Stirred, Not Shaken” was written in reference to my journey as an artist. I took the idea to my co-writer, Adriene Smith, and we both sat down to talk about the concept of the song and what we wanted to get across. Basically, it talks about going through ups and downs in my career (also in life in general) but not giving up. One of my favorite lyrics is, “I’m bruised, but I a’int broken.” This is so true in my own life but I know it relates to everyone. We all go through experiences in life that are hard and troubling, but finding the strength to overcome these things makes us stronger. This song is empowering and I can only hope that it will possibly change someones life and/or perspective on life!
CMIL: You recently shot a music video for the song. What was that experience like?
LA: It was an absolutely amazing experience. This was my first video shoot, and I cannot be more thankful for the cast and crew, Skydive Films, for making it so easy and enjoyable for me. We shot the video in different locations in the Nashville area so it was cool to keep all of the scenes local. Overall, it was such a great time and the video turned out absolutely amazing. If you guys haven’t gotten a chance to check it out, hope ya’ll will do so!
CMIL: Which artist (or artists) inspire you and your music?
LA: There are many artists that I look up to, but Miranda Lambert and Steven Tyler top the list. Miranda has been a huge influence on my music in that she paved the way for strong, independent women in the country music industry. Steven Tyler is known for his amazing stage presence and uniqueness. My favorite part of what I do is performing, and his performance level is out of this world. He inspires me to be better and be different.
CMIL: If you could tour with any country artist who would it be and why?
LA: There are many artists that I would absolutely be thrilled to open for, but I would have to sayEric Church. I don’t know if you’ve ever been to one of his shows, but the guy is one of the most enthusiastic and amazing entertainers I have ever seen. His passion for what he does shows clearly at his shows and you can tell that the entire roster for the tour is having a great time because of that. Also, I think our music style, fan base, and entertainment value would complement each other extremely well and it’d be a show no one could forget!
CMIL: What’s next for you?
LA: You can expect me to keep touring, new music to be released in the future, and well… the rest is just up in the air! I don’t like to put a map of my future together because you never know what the man upstairs has in store for you! But I can assure everyone that I will keep moving forward, making new music, playing that music, and getting myself out to the world as much as possible! It’s just the beginning and that’s exciting for me!

Chatting with Ashley Lauren
1. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
"I am 21 years old and originally from Griffin, Ga. I have loved music from the day I was born (literally) and therefore, decided about four years ago to aggressively pursue my career in the country music industry!"
2. Who or what gave you the inspiration to begin and pursue a music career?
"Like I said, I’ve always had a love for music, singing, performing, etc. But, I think it really hit me years ago at my first concert EVER- Kenny Chesney! I looked around the arena and then at the stage and imagined how amazing it would be to be on stage looking out to thousands upon thousands of fans screaming and singing your songs. At that moment I knew that I wanted to be a country music singer, songwriter, and entertainer. So.. here I am!"
3. Let’s say you were given the opportunity to open for one Artist, who would you choose and why?
"There are many artists that I would absolutely be thrilled to open for, but I would have to say Eric Church. I don’t know if you’ve ever been to one of his shows, but the guy is one of the most enthusiastic and amazing entertainers I have ever seen. His passion for what he does shows clearly at his shows and you can tell that the entire roster for the tour is having a great time because of that. Also, I think our music style, fan base, and entertainment value would complement each other extremely well and it’d be a show no one could forget!"
4. How would you describe your daily life as a musician?
"Every day is a new day to perfect my craft, gain relationships with fans, plan out shows, stay in shape so that I am ABLE to do those shows and put on a great one… yet I always try to find a little “me” time. To me that’s extremely important. It’s nice to just relax, take a deep breath, and focus on myself, friends, family, etc. It’s a lot to juggle, but I think I’ve finally learned how to manage it all!"
5. Are there any other goals you have set for yourself, other than being a successful musician?
"My main goal is to make a difference through my music. I believe that being a successful artist gives you an opportunity to do great things in the world and I want to be a person that does just that."
6. Do you have any pre-performance rituals? What are they?
"Before every show while I am getting ready, I always do vocal warm ups. Normally it is just me, so I can really relax and take the time to fully warm up, think about the show and what I want to accomplish, and wind down… just for a minute! Then- it’s all out!"
7. What are some embarrassing songs we might find on your iPod?
"Oh my gosh- There are plenty. I think I have some really cheesy Christmas songs that I downloaded a couple of years back for a Christmas party I had. I’d probably be super embarrassed if those came on randomly one day!"
8. Do you play any instruments?
"I can play guitar and piano. I don’t usually play these at my shows, mainly because I try to focus on really engaging with the audience, but every now and then I’ll throw them in the mix!"
9. What do you think your “biggest break” or “greatest opportunity” has been so far in your musical career?
"I’d say my greatest opportunity has been to open for Luke Bryan on his 2011 Farm Tour. That experience was one for the books and I am so grateful to him and his team for letting me be a part of that. Hopefully I’ll have even more amazing moments like that soon!"
10. What can we expect from you in the future?
"You can expect me to keep touring, new music to be released in the future, and well… the rest is just up in the air! I don’t like to put a map of my future together because you never know what the man upstairs has in store for you! But I can assure everyone that I will keep moving forward, making new music, playing that music, and getting myself out to the world as much as possible! It’s just the beginning for me and that’s exciting for me!"

"Stirred, Not Shaken" Review by: Eleven:11 Promotions

So, the purpose of this website is to promote new artists. As I've been scrolling through and watching iTunes this week looking for new releases of singles for this week's song review... I think I've found something!!
"
Her name is Lauren Ashley. She is 21 years old and from Griffen, Georgia. Now signed with Ninty-One Entertainment, she has just released her first music video -  "Stirred, Not Shaken".  Lauren has spent most of the last 3 years touring and performing for crowds (as large as 10,000 people per her website). Some of her influences are Miranda Lambert and Steven Tyler (Aerosmith).

While going through iTunes, and I saw "Stirred, Not Shaken"... it popped right out at me. That's pretty good when the name jumps at you like that. I immediately thought Miranda Lambert (funny, since that is one of her influences - Good job!) As I push the play button, I immediately hear a country voice --- with rock. If you know me, you know I LOVE the mix of country and rock.

While watching the music video, the first thing I noticed was that this girl is edgy. The video doesn't seem like a country music video.. but, I liked it (once again, I'm a country-rock girl). She was a girl in love who got her heart broke but she's a tough one and it's not going to knock her down.... She's just a little.... "Stirred.. Not Shaken".

Well, let's just put it this way. I bought the single off iTunes today. I really enjoyed the song and video... and if you're like me, and you like the country-rock, you will like this too.

Check her out! You won't be sorry!! :)

Lauren Ashley A True Country Rockstar

Lauren Ashley
A True Country Rockstar

by:
Vincent Samperio

With her latest single being released on iTunes,, country rock singer Lauren Ashley looks to catapult herself into the upper echelon of young singers. “Stirred, Not Shaken” was released on August 13th and has Ms. Ashley excited about the future.

“This song is different than anything I have ever released, and also different from anything you will hear on country radio,” Lauren told us. “So, I was pumped to be able to release it and give the fans a glimpse of what they’ll be hearing from me from now on.”

The 21-year-old Lauren Ashley also plans to release a video for “Stirred, Not Shaken” on August 16th on YouTube. She hopes the single does well and discussed what she would deem a success. “Of course, we would love for the single to do amazing on iTunes and to sell a great amount of downloads, but if we can get the song on the radio, XM, Internet radio, I think that would be a huge success,” Lauren says.

The Georgia native says the greatest success would be new fans listening, requesting and sharing the song to create a buzz.  Lauren says she plans on releasing singles regularly with a possible album or EP being released in the future. “Right now, it’s all about trying to catch the world onto my music, and we believe the best way to do that in today’s world is to release singles,” says Ashley.

Along with the single and video, Lauren Ashley is currently co-headlining the 2013 Southern Throwdown Concert Series with Jordan Rager. She has been playing in college towns and says the series has done very well so far. Ashley is comfortable on the stage and recalls her greatest moment.

“I have had some unbelievable moments on stage that I will never forget, but my greatest moment was opening for Luke Bryan on his 2011 Farm Tour, I think the first minute when I stepped on the stage I forgot to breathe because it was so surreal. There was 10,000 people there packed up front to the stage, screaming and singing my songs.”

Lauren is the two-time returning Female Country Artist of the Year and was recently nominated for a third time by the Georgia-Country Awards. The award is voted on by the fans and Ashley says she felt honored to be nominated again.

In order to continue to increase her fan base and popularity, Lauren uses social media to interact with the fans and get them into her music. She says she enjoys the interaction and can be found on a variety of social networks. Lauren is always looking to find new fans and says people can expect real-life experiences in her music. “My sound is rockin’ and edgy and true to who I am,” Lauren says. “My goal in songwriting is to hopefully change someone’s life or make them feel better about themselves or a situation. I want to speak to people through my songs."

Lauren says she has come a long way in a short time period and has no plans of ever giving up on her dream. The young singer says she would not want to let her fans down.“Music and entertaining is my sole passion,” Lauren said. “I can’t think of one other thing I would want to do, so I will never give up. I have a fire in me too that won’t let me give up.”  The future looks bright for this country rock star and time will only tell just how far she can go.
